Over time teeth can become stained for many different reasons.

Factors which may stain teeth:

  • Coffee

  • Tea

  • Red wine

  • Tobacco products

  • Tooth decay (cavities)

  • Injury to teeth causing the nerve (pulp) of the tooth to die

  • Excessive exposure to fluoride at a young age when permanent teeth are developing

  • Certain antibiotics such as Tetracycline during pregnancy can affect the colour of permanent teeth of young children

  • Natural aging of teeth (thinning of enamel)

Whitening your teeth may be a good option for you if you would like to brighten your smile.  At LE 32 Clinique Dentaire, we offer several tooth whitening treatment options which can be done either at home or applied in the dental office.  We offer whitening options for every budget.  Before any whitening treatment is performed, the hygienist will review each type of treatment to help decide which is best for you and to make sure that the type of whitening chosen will achieve the results you are looking for.

  • Home whitening treatment

Impressions are taken of your teeth and whitening trays are made to fit precisely over your teeth at home, you will apply whitening gel to the trays and wear them for the suggested period of time at home. This treatment will last for a period of 10-12 days.  There are also at-home whitening options which do not require impressions to be taken. These trays are already fabricated and will fit all sizes.

  • In-office whitening treatment

During this treatment, the dental hygienist will isolate your teeth and gums and apply a more concentrated whitening product to your teeth. This treatment option will allow for faster and more immediate results to be seen because a higher concentrated whitening product is used.

Whichever  treatment you decide on, it will be possible to refresh and maintain your results with intermittent whitening treatments in between your check-ups and cleanings at home with whitening trays.  We can provide you with the touch-up product to apply to your teeth after your dental cleanings.
