FAQs

We require 48 hours notice to cancel or move an appointment, otherwise a $ 75.00 cancellation fee may apply.
AT WHAT AGE SHOULD I START BRINGING MY CHILD TO THE DENTIST?
It is important to get an early start on dental care, so that your child learns that visiting the dentist is a regular part of health care, and to help us set them on the right path to great oral hygiene. The CDA (Canadian Dental Association) encourages dental visits within 6 months of the eruption of the first tooth or by one year of age.
WHAT DENTAL SERVICES DOES RAMQ (MEDICARE) COVER FOR CHILDREN?
RAMQ covers specific dental services for children
0-9 years of age such as Exams, Fillings, Extractions etc.
RAMQ does not cover PREVENTIVE services such as cleanings, fluoride, and sealants.
ARE X-RAYS NECESSARY?
It is recommended to take dental x-rays as they help the dentist and hygienist to detect issues that are not visible to be naked eye. Many diseases and conditions can only be detected with the use of dental x-rays. They allow dentist to detect diseases and other conditions much sooner than the clinical examination alone.
MY INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER THIS TYPE OF TREATMENT, SO WHY DOES MY DENTIST INSIST I DO IT?
A dentist's first obligation is to your health. If you have an issue in your mouth, the dentist will present treatment options to meet your oral and general health needs. Your treatment plan is not based on your dental plan coverage. Your dentist can help you get a pre-authorization for treatments to help you understand what costs may be covered by your dental insurance, however it is important to make your treatment decisions based on your health needs, not based on what your dental plan covers.
WHY DO I NEED AN EXAM IF I DON'T HAVE ANY ISSUES IN MY MOUTH?
The early stages of dental disease do not have any symptoms. Dental disease is not reversible, so prevention and early detection is extremely important. Dentists are trained to catch early signs of dental conditions and stop the progression of disease, preventing small problems from becoming larger ones.
